For sale is an outfit entered in the Couture Doll Design Challenge in 2009.
The fifth challenge was to create a gown for “On the Red Carpet”
I had created an elegant gown and short jacket for my outfit.
Each fabric I choose had a lovely sheen for evening wear.
The gown is constructed from chocolate colored taffeta.
The bodice has a deep cut princess neckline.
The bodice trim is an ecru colored braid with a curlicue design and beaded edges.
The trim fits under the bust, and then becomes beaded straps over the shoulder.
Gown has a full length, bias cut skirt.
The fabric used for the jacket has a paisley print in green, gold and red.
The slightly fitted jacket is waist length, does not fasten and has long sleeves.
Neither garment is lined but all seems are zigzagged and facings finish the edges.
Clutch handbag is made form the same fabric as the gown.
The doll holds the clutch by an elastic thread that slips over the fingers.
Necklace is constructed from a variety of sizes and colors of green beads
and closes with a spring ring.
